The Waters Youth Ministry Internship is a paid leadership development opportunity for individuals passionate about discipling middle school and high school students. This internship provides hands-on experience in relational ministry, platform leadership, and ministry planning.
Interns will play an active role in weekly youth programming and seasonal events while being mentored by Youth Ministry leadership. This internship is fully focused on Youth Ministry, serving middle school and high school students through weekly gatherings, events, and leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and lead games and interactive activities
- Serve in platform leadership roles such as Emcee
- Assist with ProPresenter, sound, and technical needs
- Support the planning and execution of weekly youth programming
- Build consistent, authentic relationships with students
- Assist with youth events and seasonal initiatives
Environment-Specific Responsibilities
Early Development (Infants–Toddlers)
- Maintain safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environments
- Rotate toys and sensory materials
- Support volunteers in caregiving rhythms and safety procedures
- Partner closely with parents to build trust and consistency
Preschool
- Write and prepare lesson plans
- Lead storytelling, worship, and activity-based learning
- Rotate environment videos and classroom visuals
- Establish engaging and predictable classroom rhythms
Elementary
- Facilitate curriculum and lead lessons and small groups
- Organize and oversee game zone flow and function
- Support small group leaders during services
- Help children engage Scripture in age-appropriate ways

Formation & Development
Youth Ministry Interns will be developed through:
- Weekly devotionals and mentoring
- Hands-on leadership opportunities
- Coaching in communication, platform presence, and team leadership
- Preparation for future ministry leadership or church staff roles
Child Safety & Background Requirements
Because this role involves working with children and students, all interns are required to successfully complete a background check and participate in the church’s child safety training prior to beginning their internship. This includes adhering to all Waters Church child protection policies to ensure a safe, secure, and healthy environment for every child, student, and volunteer.

Location: Based at Waters Church North Atteboro, MA, with work at other locations in New England as needed.
Internship length: May – August 2026
Weekly Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday 9:00a-4:30p Office Hours, Friday 6:30p-9:00p Waters Youth, Sunday Must attend a service.
Exact hours may vary based on ministry needs.
Compensation: This is a paid summer internship, $1,000 bi-weekly.
